Title: LOADARRAYEX
Post by: Marc Van Cauwenberghe on October 22, 2011, 04:59:21 am
Hi,

May I be the first to ask for a new feature :)
I would like to have something like EG_LOADARRAY Command but then with a 2 dimentional array
Not the way it is now, a 1 dim array where all columns are delimited by a %TAB

Thanks
Marc

I'll add it to the list.

Any chance this will be in the next version?

A few questions.

1. Two dimensional array redim preserve can change only the last dimension. Should the array be defined as Row, Col or Col, Row?
Rows will more likely changes more often than cols will.
Row, Col will perform faster (I think) but require you to rebuild the array to send to the grid each time.

2. LoadArray loads the Line Mode. Should the two dimensional array load the Design Mode (cell by cell) or line mode?

3. Do you need a EG_SaveArrayEx as well to pull the data from the grid back to an array?

I'll look at adding it for you and sending you an update with this feature including what you need today, but will probably expand the capability in the future.

4. What version of PowerBASIC are you using?

Hi Brian,

thanks for answering.

1) The rows are most likely to change, so I would do it that way. Although as you said, in future you should make it more flexible.
2) Full line mode is OK
3) I do not need EG_SAVEARRAYEX at the moment.
4) I am using PB10 (hence my craving for the SLL version :) ). But I still have PB9, PB8 also.

Thanks for considering this.

Marc
